Vic: Stabbed woman in flat for two days before found
Police say the body of a murdered woman lay in a south-east Melbourne flat for up totwo days before being found.
Fifty-year-old ROSEHANIE HOLMES was stabbed several times before dying on the bedroomfloor of her unit in Besant Street, Hampton East.
Detective Senior Sergeant RON IDDLES says initial investigations have revealed no signof forced entry, and no trace of the murder weapon.
He says Ms HOLMES -- who doesn't have criminal record -- was last seen alive by neighbourson Friday and had been dead for up to two days.
Sergeant IDDLES has asked people in neighbouring blocks to get in touch with policeif they find a knife in the area.
Neighbours say Ms HOLMES, who was unemployed, had lived alone in the flat for at leastseven years.
A postmortem examination will be conducted later today.
