Mayoral hopeful wins minor-party lines; Saratoga Springs candidate Gordon Boyd gets Independence, Conservative backing.(Capital Region)

BALLSTON SPA - The Independence and Conservative party lines belong to Saratoga Springs mayoral candidate Gordon Boyd, and now he must decide how to use them.

Boyd won the Conservative line on primary night but lost the Democratic primary to incumbent Valerie Keehn. On Tuesday, the Saratoga County Board of Elections opened absentee ballots and revealed Boyd won the Independence line, 60-57. Boyd would not say how that will affect his campaign leading up to the November election.
