NT: PM offers more money to Darwin railway
The beleaguered $1.23 billion Alice Springs-to-Darwin railway proposal appears to be
back on track after the federal government offered more taxpayers' money.
The federal and Northern Territory governments have each offered an additional $26
million to cover a reported $70 million shortfall created when American investor John
Hancock Group withdrew.
A Northern Territory government spokesman says the South Australian government is waiting
for a decision, expected this week, from an unidentified potential private sector …
